Episode 075
One Eye Doctor’s Global Mission
Your Eye-Q Question for the Week:
What is an Oculoplastics Specialist?

In this episode of The Eye-Q Podcast, I speak with Dr. Harsha Reddy about oculoplastics, surgical training, medical education, and global ophthalmology. We discuss how eye care can restore function, confidence, and dignity, and how his nonprofit Lokana brings exams, glasses, and surgical access to remote tribal communities in India.
Discover how oculoplastic surgery combines anatomy, artistry, function, and aesthetics to help patients recover not only from cosmetic concerns, but also from trauma, tumors, and reconstructive challenges.
Understand why strong foundations matter in medical training, from learning basic surgical skills with confidence to preparing thoroughly before entering the operating room.
Learn how global ophthalmology can build trust in underserved communities by bringing full eye exams, glasses, cataract care, and long-term support directly to people who may otherwise live with untreated vision problems.
